We’ve all heard some plastic surgery horror stories (and have corrected some in our practice), but there are a number of ways that you can prevent encountering any avoidable complications or dissatisfaction with the results of the procedure.
1. Do your research – understanding as much information about the procedure in advance can help you to ensure that you are in a position to discuss it with the surgeons you visit.
2. Check certification – ensure that your surgeon is licensed for plastic surgery. Also, ask them to confirm their specialty with any relevant documentation.
3. Ask for referrals – if you talk to others that have had the same procedure done, you’ll have an idea of a surgeon’s track record!
4. Don’t underpay – if a quote seems like it’s too good to be true, it probably is. You get what you pay for, so don’t choose a plastic surgeon based on the lowest quote!
